The Role
Win-Shield Devices is seeking a highly driven, hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to help establish and scale the manufacturing processes for a new line of products. In this role, you will bridge the gap between R&D and full-scale production. You will be responsible for designing the assembly processes, sourcing and validating capital equipment, and building the jigs and fixtures required to produce everything from low volume certification prototypes to full-scale production runs.
Requested Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a degree in a similar field or equivalent experience.
Experience with 3D CAD for tooling, jig, and fixture design.
Experience with drafting engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of tolerancing and Design for Manufacturing (e.g. CNC machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.)
Hands-on experience working with hand/power tools and assembly.
2+ years of direct experience working on manufacturing equipment.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with creating structured manufacturing documentation (flow charts, work instructions) and process qualification.
Experience with plastics manufacturing including injection molding.
Experience working within an ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or other regulated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Plan, specify, procure, and commission the capital equipment required for the manufacturing and assembly line.
Utilize 3D CAD to design, test, and fabricate custom assembly aids, nests, and R&D jigs for initial prototypes, eventually scaling these designs into robust fixtures for full-scale production.
Work closely with Quality Engineers, Assembly Technicians, and external technical advisors to solve complex manufacturing challenges.
Develop comprehensive manufacturing documentation within a regulated Quality Management System (QMS). This includes authoring Manufacturing Plans, Process Flow Charts, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and detailed Work Instructions.
Lead the assembly of initial low-volume Test & Evaluation (T&E) units.
Aid in the execution of equipment and process qualification for all new manufacturing equipment to ensure repeatable production.
Work directly with the product development team to provide Design for Manufacturing and Assembly input, identifying design changes that improve manufacturability, assembly consistency, quality, cost, and scalability.

The Role
The Product Development Engineer will support the development of advanced PPE and respiratory protection systems from product definition through detailed design, testing, and production readiness. This role will involve translating user needs, program objectives, and test results into clear engineering requirements and practical design solutions. The position is highly hands-on and will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Testing & Certification, Operations, and external suppliers to move products from prototype-stage concepts toward controlled, manufacturable, and certifiable solutions.
Requested Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
3+ years of relevant product development or mechanical design experience preferred.
Proficiency in CAD software, with Fusion 360 or SolidWorks preferred.
Strong mechanical design, problem-solving, and DFM capability.
Experience with prototyping, testing, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional technical teams.
Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, verification and validation, or regulated product development is an asset.
Responsibilities
Develop and refine product and engineering requirements based on user needs, program objectives, standards, risk assessments, and test results.
Translate requirements into practical mechanical concepts and detailed engineering solutions.
Design and develop medical, defence, and industrial products in accordance with internal specifications and applicable standards
Create and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Participate in hands-on prototyping, assembly, testing, and iterative design improvement.
Support design reviews, risk assessments, and verification and validation planning.
Apply DFM principles and collaborate with suppliers on materials, components, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
Work closely with Quality, Testing & Certification, and Operations to support design transfer, production readiness, and certification activities.
Revise engineering designs and documentation in response to testing, manufacturing requirements, and design changes.
Support maintenance of design documentation including DHF and DMF activities where applicable.
Provide technical support during pilot runs and commercial manufacturing

The Role
The Quality Engineer will work as a liaison between the Quality and Engineering departments developing, implementing, and continuously improving quality standards and inspection criteria to ensure product and process integrity throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This role ensures compliance with international standards, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971
Requested Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
Experienced/certified auditor for ISO 9001 & ISO 13485.
Experience in quality tasks and function including calibration, statistical process control, PFMEA, control plan, supplier audits, internal audits, etc.
Experience in manufacturing or a similar working environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation, monitoring, improvement and control of the quality system as required.
Perform periodic process and products audits and Quality System Audits to ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 Standard.
Prepare and assist during external audits. To receive, implement, and respond to non conformances and validate corrective actions.
Oversee receiving inspection and to notify, control and coordinate the disposition of non-conforming material from external providers. To receive and validate corrective actions.

Supervise, coordinate and maintain the calibration, including the disposition of equipment out of calibration, and sourcing new Equipment. Perform Measurement System Analysis.

Lead and train team members on quality standards and best practices.

The Role
Win-Shield Devices is seeking a highly skilled Product Designer with strong expertise in design for manufacturing (DFM), particularly for thermoplastic injection molding. This role includes ownership of components and assemblies from concept through production, with a focus on ensuring designs are manufacturable, robust, and ready for scale.
Requested Qualifications
5+ years of relevant industry experience in mechanical or product design.
Expert-level 3D modeling skills, preferably in Fusion 360 or Solid Works.
Proven experience with designing parts for thermoplastic injection molding.
Strong understanding of manufacturing fundamentals, including tolerancing, assembly methods, draft angles, ribs/bosses, shrinkage, and mold design considerations.
Experience taking products from prototype to production—preferably in mechanical, consumer, defense, medical, or industrial hardware.
Working knowledge of electrical/electronic integration in product design, including mounting considerations for PCBs, routing for wiring/harnesses, and enclosure design for powered components.
Ability to work with engineers and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with toolmakers and injection molding vendors.
Knowledge of GD&T, mold flow analysis, or tool design principles.
Experience in respiratory protection, PPE, or other regulated hardware sectors is an asset.
